Absolution is more than a cosmetics brand

At Absolution, we believe beauty doesn’t stop at the edge of your skin. It extends to everything around us: a forest growing back, a river regaining its banks, a hand held out to those who need it.

We have always supported initiatives that reflect our values of ethics, respect and commitment. On our own scale, without grand speeches, but with consistency. Because saying you’re committed is good. Showing it is better.

For biodiversity: the little Absolution forest

Our business is organic cosmetics, which means we depend, very concretely, on the generosity of the living world: plants, soil, water, pollinators. So since 2019, we have been working alongside EcoTree, a company dedicated to sustainable forest management and reforestation, to care for French forests. Trees capture CO₂, shelter biodiversity and help ecosystems regenerate. Each one is a stone in the foundation of a more sustainable future.

Every year during our Tree Week, our alternative to Black Friday (we’d rather plant than push people to consume), we donate 5% of our online store sales for the week to forest and biodiversity projects. We also run one-off initiatives throughout the year.

Where we stand today:

  • over €10,500 invested;
  • 240 trees that we own, in Brittany, the Nièvre and the Creuse;
  • 373 trees sponsored in the Sarthe;
  • the restoration of the riverside woodland at Cléden-Poher (Finistère) and of forests ravaged by fire in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) and Landiras (Gironde);
  • nine ecosystem restoration projects supported through EcoTree’s Biodiversity Fund.

Year by year:

2019. We plant 136 trees (Douglas fir, chestnut, larch, thuja and spruce) in the Cléden-Poher forest in Brittany. This 3-hectare site lies in a Natura 2000 zone in the Aulne valley (Finistère). A former larch monoculture, it is now home to new plantings that support local biodiversity and help the forest regenerate. The profits from the workshops at our 10th anniversary pop-up (€2,330) also funded a biodiversity project on this site.

2020. For our first Tree Week, we plant 20 red oaks and 9 Douglas firs in the Luthenay forest (Nièvre), along with 75 chestnut trees in the Pleyben forest (Finistère). These honey-producing trees are also a food source for bees. We also fund the restoration of the riverside woodland at Cléden-Poher, a precious meeting point between land and aquatic environments.

2021. We fund the upkeep of 373 Douglas firs in the La Chapelle-Saint-Rémy forest, in the Sarthe.

2022. We help reforest 35 hectares of the Moustiers-Sainte-Marie forest, devastated by the fires of summer 2022. We also fund the installation and upkeep, for two years, of a beehive in the Pleyben forest to support pollination.

2023. We support the EcoTree Biodiversity Fund, which strengthens terrestrial biodiversity across a variety of ecosystems: creating and restoring ponds and wetlands, installing beehives, preserving habitat trees, and also helping people without work back into employment and training people with disabilities. Together, these projects weave a national web of biodiversity, with a positive social impact.

2024. We contribute to the reforestation of 2 hectares of a burnt forest in Landiras (Gironde) and to the restoration of wetlands, which are essential to forest life.

2025. A particularly difficult year for Absolution, which meant we couldn’t keep the partnership going. But we’re not giving up!

2026. We’re renewing our commitment to help the little Absolution forest grow: 10% of online store sales during our Tree Week will be reinvested in buying trees.

La Maison des Femmes: for a more peaceful future

Since 2021, we have supported La Maison des Femmes in Saint-Denis, a unique place attached to the Saint-Denis hospital, dedicated to welcoming and supporting women in difficulty or who are victims of violence. Founded in 2016 by Dr Ghada Hatem-Gantzer, an obstetrician-gynecologist, it offers multidisciplinary care with a single point of contact to meet each woman’s specific needs.

Under one roof, healthcare, legal and justice professionals and police officers work alongside therapists, artists and athletes to support patients on the path to healing and independence. It is a place where women are cared for, protected and helped to rebuild.

Every 8 March, we donate 100% of that day’s online store sales. We are proud to contribute, on our own scale, to a fairer and more caring world.

Pink October: standing with women battling cancer

In 2026, Absolution is getting involved in Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the first time, alongside RoseUp.

This association supports women affected by all types of cancer, as well as their loved ones. It provides reliable information, resources and workshops to help them live better with the disease.

At Absolution, we stand for cosmetics that care for the living world. Looking after your skin also means protecting your health and limiting our impact on the environment. This vision guides our formulas, but also how we speak. Through our posts and blog articles, we share knowledge to raise awareness and help everyone better understand their skin and their health.

Supporting RoseUp is part of that same desire to share, to inform and to care. Because our commitment doesn’t end with our cosmetics: it extends to women, to their health and to the living world.

Throughout October, for every product purchased, €1 is donated to the association.

A simple, concrete gesture that makes a difference.
